Sue Ryder supports people through the most difficult times of their lives. Whether that’s a terminal illness, the loss of a loved one or a neurological condition – we’re there when it matters. Our doctors, nurses and carers give people the compassion and expert care they need to help them live the best life they possibly can.
My dear friend Ben sadly died from cancer in July having lived with it courageously since January. He spent 5 weeks in Sue Ryders Hospice at Leckhampton Court, which allowed him and his very young family to spend precious time together knowing he was receiving the specialist care he required.
Ben's wish was for his family and friends to raise a total of £17,000, which is roughly what it would have cost for a bed for 5 weeks.
So this is me trying to raise some money, dusting off my trainers having not ran for at least 3 years. I would love to hit my £500 target to kick start Ben's challenge!
**UPDATE** I can't thank everyone enough for your kind donations, as you will see my £500 target has 'been and gone' (I still can't believe it!) so my new target is £1000 xxx
